Executive Values
When it comes to working in an organization, many people forget to bring their Christian beliefs and values with them. They fear that if they do bring it to the workplace, it will get compromised and they will lose their soul in the process. Many also get stuck in a reoccurring routine that hurts their lives at home-they stay in the office working late hours and it takes its toll on their personal lives. Many marriages and relationships end up falling apart as a result of staying at work late.
In Executive Values, Senske reveals the truth about bringing one’s Christian faith to the workplace. He reveals how it doesn’t create any problems, but rather makes the working atmosphere much more relaxing and enjoyable. One major area of concern in the workplace is following the golden rule- do to others what you would have them do to you. He tells us how working with others and being their friend increases productivity and reduces the number of job turnovers that occur during the year. The more we work with others in the workplace, the more those people will realize that you are there to help them succeed as well-and that you aren’t there just because you have to be.
Senske also encourages organizations to value their employees. He puts it simple- “Organizations that do not value their employees in today’s competitive environment will simply not be around for long.” Organizations must treat their employees with respect so in turn; the employees will value the company. An organization has to build the trust of its workers by showing them that they value the jobs they do. Once the workers can see their importance and they value the company they work for, they are more likely to stay working at that same organization for many years to come.
