Major highlights

The budget of Orange county has several points that needs to be discussed in detail; some of the highlights of the budget of this year are discussed below. All these highlights carries equal importance as each point is unique and is related to some field of our lives.

* The budget helps in increasing the employment rate buy 1.8%; making it the state with the lowest unemployment rate.

* The real housing schemes were kept in focus as its price is increased by almost $100,000 in just a year. Through these real housing programs Orange county is earning a large amount of revenues

* Inflation is slightly lower than other states; measures have been taken to keep the inflation rate as low as possible

* No tax increase have been taken place; it’s a good point as to keep the burden of taxes on the public as low as possible

* 3% salary adjustments have also been done

* No operating budget and new positions are made unless they are completely justified why they are important

* Budget have been proposed to build basic infrastructure in the state and maintaining the already built

* Soccer fields, parks, elementary schools, speed radar signs and many other things like this have been proposed to be built

* $3 million for Human services grant have been allocated which is a very positive change (Jacobs)

Interesting changes in last 3 years

There are many interesting points that are discussed in the budget of this year. Some points, which I found to be interesting, are given below:

* Drastically increase in the tax revenues is a positive sign for the Orange county; although 5% decrease in the aggregate tax collection have been recorded

* In the past 3 years, real housing schemes were not as importance as it is given in current’s budget.

* Steps to ensure strong economic condition have been taken which was not taken in the previous years
