ULP's and Organizing Tactics

Human Resource Management is responsible for taking into consideration the employee rights when enforcing rules and regulations. Management has an obligation to extend that to their employees and always ensure that the employee has a fair chance before termination is considered. In the case of Bob Thomas and the Apollo Corporation, although his employment should have been terminated long ago, management was not taking corrective action and letting him get away with his bad behavior.

When an employee is exhibiting bad behavior or does not obey rules, corrective action must be taken in order to let the employee know that it is not okay to disobey rules. Another thing to take into consideration is that it is not fair to the other employees if one person continually gets away with bad behavior and others are reprimanded

When a house is built, care must be taken when the foundation is created. It is important, since the base supports the structure built upon it. This is much like a relationship between employer and employee. When an employee is breaking rules and acting carelessly, that is the time to reprimand and change bad behavior. One must take care to follow the rules at all times so that the companies' interests are protected. In this case, Thomas was allowed to do what he wanted for so many years. There were no repercussions for his actions. Since that was the case, he was accustomed to doing as he pleased. When the company evaluated the situation and began to enforce the policy, naturally Thomas was in an uproar.

Attendance is very important part of one's job responsibilities. Five years is a long time to go without admonishment. It is the fault of management that a monster was created. The result was that no one knew how to handle Thomas. Since...
