Club IT, Part II

Club IT is a newly renovated nightclub owned and operated by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada. They are looking to create an atmosphere that the local community can come to meet regularly and to offer great music, food, and refreshments that suits their customer’s lifestyles (Rainer & Turban, 2000-2007). “Club IT’s customers are mostly net generation and millennials. “They regularly use mobile technologies such as Blackberry’s, PDAs, camera phones, and other wireless communication devices” (Rainer & Turban, 2000-2007). Now that the club has been completely renovated, Ruben and Lisa have determined that the information technology system is sub-par at best. The current resources employed at the club consist of a website with an intranet portal for its employees. Ruben and Lisa manage the inventory on spreadsheets, which, can easily have many mistakes. It is imperative that Ruben and Lisa update their business model to uphold their mission statement and to ultimately compete with other nightclubs.

Ruben and Lisa have to focus on the main business focus on the club, which is the clientele. Making sure that the customers are happy and ensuring that they return is extremely important to the survival of the business. One area that could improve on the business is implementing a customer relationship management system (CRM) into the business. This type of system would allow the ability to see and evaluate what the clientele base is and manage the relationship between the customer and Club IT. An area that is a problem and needs improvement is the club website. It is very dull and boring. The website covers the basics, but does not allow any customer interaction not is there any marketing strategies.
