1. Why is the distinction between denotation and connotation important?

To get your point across without giving the wrong impression and staying within your character[Within the proper setting].

2. What are some common words in your vocabulary that may have unintended emotion for your “audience”?

For me it would be would be jumping to conclusions majority of the time it is based on past experiences, I tend assume that I already know what my mate is going to say before they ever say a word, with this conclusion it causes me to tune out from the message.

3. How can the connotation of words be used to a speaker’s advantage? Are there times when this is unethical? Give three examples of “meanings are in people.”

It is often used to make people that are very charged emotionally in making decisions, as well as in a place where people are stressed and you would have to find a way to keep them calm and relaxed, and less stressed.

4. Give three examples of meanings are in people.

2.)The people that say things,always know what they mean by saying them.

3.)People are always full of meaning and purpose.

5. How can using abstract terms cause problems for a communicator?

It may put out a certain point of view to the listener, which may be misinterpreted and taken out of context, causing both parties unnecessary grief.

6. What makes a term “abstract”?

By responding what I am saying in a manner that sounds professionally right to me, such as something that is good or bad, but it might be puzzling to others and mislead them to view me differently because they are puzzled.
