Chapter 2

METHODOLOGY

This chapter tackles the methodology used in designing and developing the proposed system of the Bangued Printing Press. It’s also explains the Scope and Delimitation, the different techniques in data gathering, and the different Sources of Data.

Software Development Methodology The software development methodology used in the study was System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This is a framework defining tasks perform at each step in the software development process and this is also a structure followed by a development team within a software. The life cycle defines the methodology for improving the quality of software and the overall development process. The System Life Cycle (SLC) is a methodology used to describe the process for building information systems, intended to develop information systems in a very deliberate, structured and methodical way, reiterating each stage of the life cycle. The systems development life cycle.

According to Taylor (2004), "The project life cycle encompasses all the activities of the project, while the systems development life cycle focuses on realizing the product requirements". SDLC is used during the development of an IT project; it describes the different stages involved in the project from the drawing board, through the completion of the project.

Although SDLC has different forms and models, it follows certain steps. These steps could have the same name in one methodology but they are treated in a different manner or could lead to something different. We will take a look at some common steps that you will find in most methodologies in SDLC. SDLC (System Development Life Cycle), just as the name implies, is defined as the process (as a whole) of developing system or software to meet certain requirements. It covers many activities; starts from understanding why the system should be built, studying the project feasibility, analyzing problems, choosing the system design and architecture,...
