OutlineThesis: Throughout Technopoly Neil Postman has strong arguments and contradictions on technology and its effect on culture. However I believe Neil postman is wrong in certain aspects in which he views technology. Technology has increased the survival and procedural outcomes of open heart surgery. The leading History of open heart surgery demonstrates how centuries before technology the heart was operated and dealt with differently. In the medical field technology has improved life expectancy and has brought about more success then past used procedures.

Postman and Technology

Postman views technology as a controlling mechanism that has changed cultural values and social interactions between people. Technopoly is prove how Postman doubt technology and speaks about it as if it has only done bad. In reality technology has shaped aspects in medicine and has made a better cultural society in medicine.

Open Heart surgery History

History of open heart surgery has changed dramatically throughout the years. Its procedures have been more successful and life expectancy has increased.

Technology has changed procedures, outcomes and has been more successful

Now with technology medication and easier procedures are done to ease the pain and save the persons live , decades before technology people died due to not having the right medication or the right procedures performed. People performed open heart surgeries by slicing the patients chest in half and pumping the heart. Technology has saved lives, and is less time consuming and has more hygiene to avoid diseases.
