Make Sure You Have Enough

One Friday evening in July I decided to visit my best friend, Shericia Bonnett, which lives in Wagener, South Carolina. I laid my clothes out and was about to take a shower and I realized that my car was dirty. I was short of time so what was I to do? I thought about washing it myself but that was rather time consuming. I came to the conclusion that it was best for me to get dressed and take my car to the drive-thru carwash. I curled my hair and put my jazzy outfit on and looked in the mirror to be sure I was looking wonderful. I locked the house and proceeded to get in my sporty black Mustang and headed to Wagener which was about 25 miles away. I knew that the nearest car wash only 10 miles from my house, therefore, I decided to pull in and get my car washed. As I drove out of the bay, my car was spotless and shining like it was on display. My rims were sparkling and the silver flakes were dazzling and I was about to speed to get Shericia. I was looking gorgeous and my car was shining but there was one thing I did not think about. What was it? It was the amount of fuel that was in my car. To my surprise, my fuel light was on as a warning that my fuel was low; however, I thought I could make it to my destination.

I drove about 65 miles per hour to make it to Shericia’s house and the light was steadily flashing and my heart was racing. I called Shericia and told her I was on my way but I did not tell her my car was extremely low in fuel and there was a possibility that I would be delayed. I drove for miles and I was getting closer to the gas station gas. However, before I made it there I felt my car jerk several times and I knew that it was not a mechanical problem. The car was jerking as a result of the fuel tank being almost empty but the gas station was in sight! Nevertheless, I was stopped by a traffic light in town and my car was completely out of fuel.
