How does the director create meaning using visual, technical and symbolic codes (audio, camera, editing, mise-en-scene). How are these techniques of storytelling used to create meaning for an audience in the short film the Black Hole?
The structure of the ‘black hole’ is very simple and straightforward; it’s an open narrative. It’s an open narrative because as a viewer you don’t know what happens in the end, it leaves you guessing. This is a very good filming technique as it makes the viewers put themselves in the same position. Secondly its in chronological time order, e.g. doesn’t start with the man in the safe then showing a flash back, flows from start to finish.
The enigma codes included in the film are, Why is the hole there? What you you’re self would use it for? , What going to happen him? put make the location clear to the viewer.
Social realism is what his reputation and image tells us how well he is

the guy in c1, c2 as he is skilled but from the environment he’s alone.
Sound can serve both the physical and the emotional meaning. It is
possible to superimpose the emotional realism over the...
