Evernote

Evernote founded by Stephan Pachikov in 2004. It is a personal computer software application. That allowed users to capture, recognize and search through text on their hard disks. Phil Libin discovered Evernote in spring 2007 and joined forces with Pachikov when he saw the demo of Evernote. Pachikov stepped back to a board role while Libin become CEO and brought a number of key executives. The company also focused on brandings and created cloud-based “external brain” service that allow people to capture anything, access anywhere and find things fast.

“Anti-Social”, as Libin described the Evernote since it is focusing on personal productivity and privacy. Core clips, images and audio, which were synchronized across the different platforms. The other half Evernote’s core product is making it easy to find data. Each user had their own preferred way of organizing things. Evernote use notebook to organize multiple notes and it can be tagged with searchable keywords, location information and other metadata. Users had dashboard they could use to create, organized and view all of their notebooks. Client software accessed the Evernote service using Application Program Interface (API). The company develop Web Clipper that allow users to clip web pages and send them as notes to the Evernote Notebook. It had also few sharing features which allowed notes to be shared for viewing and editing by other users.Evernote designed in a modular fashion so that new client software and features could undergo independent development as Evernote service via to Evernote API. It enables outside development to create application that access the Evernote service. The Evernote launched an application showcase, The Trunk, which included applications such as voice transcription software, note and PDF annotation software, Evernote integration with SAP software and client software for platforms.
