Philllipines as an archipelago is basically a group of land masses surrounded by bodies of water thus making it a perfect home for natural resources. Philippines is rich for its breathtaking sceneries; natural tourist spots that are varied from the perfect cone-shaped of Mount Mayon down to the mystical and aesthetic waters of Subterranean Underground River. Philippines itself is not just popular because of its natural tourist spots but also because of its historical landmarks. As a nation, Philippines is historically colonized by Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese making the country a multicultural-varied center core of rich history. Luneta Park (previously known as Bagumbayan) is the country’s most famous landmark taking hold of the historical death of Jose Rizal. As a religious country, Philippines has also a lot of national landmark collections such as Daraga Church (Catholic church in Albay), Macho Temple (Chinese temple in San Fernando, Pampanga), and Masjid Al-Dahab (mosque in Tondo, Manila).

Historical landmarks are essential when one is studying history. Unfortunately, the perception that history is boring and uninteresting is a big problem to the instructors. Learners today are usually occupied and distracted by the games on their gadgets making them inattentive most of the time. Sad to day but many Filipinos do not recognize the importance of historical landmark on their country and even to themselves.

According to Fowlkes (2010), the main reason on why history is considered as a boring subject can be rooted from its traditional way of presenting it on the class. She also mentioned the difficulty of memorizing of certain stuffs in regards with historical events such as its place, people involved with it, and the date when it took place making it a difficult and incomprehensible subject.
