Genetically Modified Foods

Genetically modified food can potentially harm the human body as well as have a

detrimental effect on our ecosystem, even though the agrochemical and agricultural

biotechnology corporation, Monsanto claims GMO’s to be beneficial to the human population.

GMO is greatly affecting or agricultural mainly in the United States, the impact it is having on

our ecosystem the risks we face as humans but especially our children and future generations.

We are always trying to protect them keep them safe and healthy, but we are greatly failing.

With all the GMO products we have out there and feeding to our kids and unconsciously

supporting Monsanto’s GMO that will change the function of earth for our future generations.

How can we get educated and make a difference? The first question we want to ask is

what are GMOs? To answer that for you, GMO are genetically modified organisms that change

the natural genetic features of DNA. They can be both altered in plants or animals, were their

DNA is modified through laboratory processes to attain specific desired characteristics. GMO

are especially found in our agriculture, seeds have been enhanced from its original form to have

herbicides and pesticides included in their genetic traits changing nature and its natural habitat.

These seeds have been mutated with pesticides and roundup ready to eliminate spraying on crops

and farms. If you ask me this is a selfish need for corporations to save money and see more profit

and our health is now at risk but more so, all of nature is now threatened by cause and effect due

to Monsanto and other corporations. Commercial Agricultural giant Monsanto Company has

pushed its way to the top of the corporate food chain significantly thanks to its modified seeds.

Monsanto’s GM corn and soybean seeds have become so widespread over the past two decades that now, a new crop of “super weeds” have evolved to resist these potent chemicals.
