Work Team Concepts

Management 210

Working in a group allows for the group to accomplish more together than alone. Many businesses choose to have teams that employees are assigned to. This allows the employees to develop a system that works best for them. It allows the group to take on a larger task and complete it together.

My experience working with fellow classmates did not go as I expected. I felt as if my group was unaware of the group assignment. The concept our group illustrated was group communication. When a group communicates well together they have the ability to complete a job successfully. On the other hand however, when there is a lack of communication within the group it is almost impossible to be successful. In my group situation there was a lack of communication. It made it difficult for me to be able to complete my assignment. Rather than wait on my group I had to come up with another plan to still be successful with the assignment. I feel that there is never a reason not to complete something. I had to take to the other groups and use what they had to complete the assignment. Having the lines of communication the other groups had I was able to gain another perspective and still feel as if I was a part of a group. I took what I gathered and posted again in my thread so that when my teammates posted they could see the different perspectives.

Working in a group allows for the opportunity to accomplish more together. Not always it that the case. When there is a lack of communication, group members are left alone to complete the assignment not gaining the perspectives of the members. To ensure success there needs to be open lines of communication and participation.
