Abstract

In the globalization, it influences to change in the industrial relation that involve about employment such as work’s condition, remuneration, welfare, unfair topic or workplace conflicts. There are many factors that reflect the problem and solution in this topic.

This essay will demonstrate understanding in HRM topic and examine the difference and similarity about industrial relation in Thailand and Australia. In addition, it will show the idea which things are able to be applied appropriate for the modern and commerce.

Introduction

There are many portions that are involved with industrial relations in Australia such as employer associations, trade unions and the government. These are affected from the variation of global development, regulation or law improvement. There are many supporters who sustain in one of industrial relations approaches that are pluralist, unitarist and Marxist (Stone, 2014, p.579).

“Industrial relation (IR) is the term use to cover working condition such as rates of pay, annual leave, sick leave and long service leave, among other things.”(Safework; SA, 2013)

In the industrial relations, there are three important approaches. Firstly, the pluralist approach is shown the conflict that involve with employees and employers are a common problem in workplace that are inescapable. Trade unions are brought to participate in the conflict’s solution. Secondly, the unitarist approach is which believe in teamwork and cooperation. Low effectiveness or the conflicts come from an inefficient management. Trade unions are evaluated as the obstacle in the employee’s responsibility and cooperation. Lastly, the radical or Marxist approach is the reflection from the difference in class of people from the capital system. It looks like a political and social conflict in workplace.
