How do distance education classes promote adult learning?

Take the search statement you wrote for either Topic A or Topic B and do the following:

 1)   If you chose Topic B, perform an advanced search in the ERIC database, and select the peer-reviewed journals option as well as the full-text option. Then, try your search without selecting those options.

2) In the Discussion: Online Searching and Critical Thinking, indicate the search statement you wrote and the database used.  Tell us if your search statement worked using either option. If not, show us your revised your search statement. Also, were the results relevant to your topic?

(a) (“distance education classes” or “online courses”) and ( adult not child* not kid) and (learning or schooling or training)

(b) The search seemed to work just fine with using the filters as with not. But with the filters it did get rid of over 100,000 extra searches.

(c) A lot of them are relevant and others even narrow it down to military members and distance education.

3) Then, choose an article, and open the article. Now, scan the article text or abstract and describe to us new information learned. Since this new piece of information interests you, formulate a new research question for the information you wish to further investigate as well as a new search statement for it.

a) I didn’t find too much of new information. But it does state they would select a couple students taking online classes and monitor their motivation, engagement, and performance. Which the outcome had very positive results.
