Working hard to achieve a goal and getting recognition in support of the achieved goal, is very important in a working environment. Goals must be shared with others to get the extra emphasis, which helps people to focus and work towards achievement. Once goals are achieved, those same people that helped obtain the goal, will celebrate and applaud the reward and recognition that is given for superior performance. Clifton and Nelson (2010) propose four catalysts that can transform talent or potential into recognized strengths: mission, relationship, expectations, and celebration. Relationships are very important to establish, which will help the communication flow, and awareness with others. The last two, expectations and celebration, allow personal and professional strengths to flourish and provide encouragement. Positive expectations and encouragement through celebration of each person’s achievements increases those strengths, enables goal achievement, and reaches self-actualization to achieve individual fulfillment. ---Great introduction!!!!

Building a relationship is the first and one of the most critical steps in an organization. In a relationship, each party has a choice to build the other up or not. When it comes to building relationships, those built around a positive attitude toward the other and their strengths will reap a return on relationship investment. Focusing on someone else’s strengths, rather than pointing out their weaknesses or faults, creates a positive atmosphere which harbors success in an organization.
