Strategic Initiative
As the market continues to develop PepsiCo’s strategies to produce, sell and market their brands had to be changed and acquired for the company to continue to succeed. From the minor changes to the major changes, strategies, initiatives, and structured developments of change would have to be implemented and sought through to complete a full and good standing degree of change. Team B will explore all strategic planning initiatives and elaborate as needed on how to implement a good or new strategic plan, how it will affect costs, how it will affect sales and what risks are associated with the paths selected by PepsiCo. A Strategic Planning Initiative
In August 2009, PepsiCo acquired Pepsi Bottling Group in a stock purchase. The new subsidiary of PepsiCo had found itself in a financial crunch in 2008. They would be with declines in the liquid refreshment marketplace. “Structured to Succeed” was the initiative by Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG) established to streamline their operational capabilities around the world.
Four basic goals were set within this process. First, was to strengthen the customer service of the beverage giant and increase effective sales. Second, the initiative was to make the decision process simpler while streamlining existing processes. The third goal within the Structured to Succeed initiative was to increase cost productivity to adapt to the current economic conditions. The fourth goal was to improve PepsiCo’s supply chain network. Good job explaining the strategic initiative.
