Overtown Records Signs Soul Music Legend Timmy Thomas

New York, NY - Soul Legend Timmy Thomas Signs to Overtown Records.

Timmy Thomas, singer of the 3 million selling smash hit "Why Can't We Live Together," has signed a multi-album contract with upstart soul label, Overtown Records.

The timing is impeccable for Thomas, who recently retired from teaching music for Miami-Dade Public schools. His time is now his own. He's ready to share it with his millions of fans just in time for a new wave of popularity. "Why Can't We Live Together" is sampled in superstar rapper Drake's new single "Hotline Bling." At press time, "Hotline Bling" is #29 and rising on the Billboard top 100 chart and has over 3,000,000 hits on You Tube.

"In 1973 I asked why can't we live together." Thomas affirms. "While there is still pain in the world, People are Changing, and we can heal ourselves through love and music. "

"I think it is important that people understand why Overtown is an important part of Music History." Thomas states. "I may be from Indiana, but I cut my teeth in those clubs before my recording career."
