Attitude can be a complex subject because many factors can contribute to a person’s attitude. Attitude is the way in which a person is feeling or thinking towards something. Generally, a person’s behavior is going to reflect their feelings. One of the first factors relating to a person’s attitude is the affects which are certain things that are going to give people the attitude that they have. For example, say Jennifer has a negative attitude towards Steve. The attitude did not appear from nowhere, but because of how Steve acted towards Jennifer the last time they met now there is an issue. Steve called her a few choice names and now Jennifer’s attitude is negative when she has to be around him. The next factor is going to be a person’s behavior. Jennifer, who is usually outgoing and friendly with everyone, may turn anti-social or quiet while Steve is around. She may be very short tempered with her comments or questions that she asked (Cherry).

The roles of prejudice, aggression, and attraction can also affect social interaction. A person will not act the same if they are angry, for example, then if they are happy. A happy person who is called a name may laugh it off or even joke about it, but a person who is aggressive may fight back and create a bigger dispute. Attraction is going to change the way a person acts as well. A person may tend to be flirtatious or nicer to a person that they find attractive than one that they don’t find attractive. Attraction also affects body language. When you are attracted to someone you tend to stand closer, make eye contact, and touch more often and it is the opposite when you are not attracted.

A group influences a person’s behaviors because a group is will generally have a certain attitude all together in unity. A very positive and happy group is going to result in a person in the group behaving the same way (Youth Peer-to-Peer Groups Influence Attitudes and...
