Regardless of your faith, the one thing that we all ask for when we go to pray is for good health and this has been so since humans were created. Most people are afraid of dying and scared of getting sick. For some people, health is number one on the list that they beg for. Now imagine if one of your loved ones was ill or in an accident and when you took them to the hospital all the nurses and the help were solely interested in was to find out what insurance you have and if the procedures that they needed to do to make the patient better would be covered. Well this is the horrific fact that all of us in The United States face everyday and for over forty million of us excluding illegal immigrants, they don’t even have health insurance so it makes the situation worse. In my paper I hope to show how adopting a universal healthcare system like that of our neighbors to the north, Canada may be beneficial and better for all of us and even save the government some money. 

As Cannon and Tanner (2005), quoted in their book Healthy Competition, it has been stated from democratic leader Senator. Edward M. Kennedy and many doctors that universal health care shouldn’t be a privilege but it should be a right that should be given to everyone (33). Cannon and Tanner (2005), states that countries in Europe and Canada already have universal health insurance coverage, which has been proven to be a positive aspect in their countries because they provide care to everyone (34). Patricia M. Danzon (1992), author of “Hidden Overhead Costs: Is Canada’s System Really Less Expensive?”, states that health insurance would eliminate co-pays and deductibles to physicians, specialists, and also having various third party insurances, for instance, for dental, vision, and hospitals (36). Furthermore Cannon and Tanner (2005), mentions that all the money the government is spending on Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security could be spent on paying for all medical services for the patients...
