Bulletin Board Survey results: In answer to the two prompts “Please describe a favorite Bulletin Board you’ve made/seen” and “any advice about Bulletin Boards”
“The board was made into a giant puzzle with different colored pieces. Name “tags” were made out of real puzzle pieces broken into squares of four, glued together and painted white. On the first day we fit all the white squares together to illustrate ‘We all fit together” and then put on the big bulletin board. After school, pictures arrived, they were added to the white pieces, made into magnets, and sent home.” –Mrs. Black
“Valerie Standlee did one for me (surprise) that had a big snowflake in the frame. The words with it were: Frosty’s baby picture. Take pictures of ones you like. Keep in a photo album to refer to later. It may come in very handy.” –Kris Ferlic
“I give my classes a ‘home activity’ to create a snowman in December. Then I display them in January with a photo of the child on the snowman. It’s fun, it involves the family (usually), and it’s usually cute!! You could do this with any take home project! A great way to get family involved! “A bulletin board on dinosaurs where each section of the picture/scene was colored by a different student and then pieced together to form the complete scene. Then student work about dinosaurs was displayed around it. Be creative! Almost anything can be made into a bulletin board. Don’t be afraid to search other teacher’s ideas. “MLK board. We took students pictures posed outside on the playground equipment then they wrote about a dream that they have. “I have a dream to be a vet” We typed and matted them on black construction paper with the picture then each month we added things to go with the month around the pictures.
