REGRESSION ASSIGNMENT - 1
BACHELORS AND MASTER PLUS t -test:
The null hypothesis here states that the coefficient of the independent variables are ‘0’ i.e. in this case b1=0, but this does not hold on in two cases 1) the t-stat value > 2.0 2) p-value < 0.05.
Bachelors (b1): 1) t stat = 9.04 > 2.0, 2) p-value =1.84492E-18 < 0.05; this clearly shows we have to reject the possibility of the coefficient being zero therefore b1=428.38
Masters Plus (b2): 1) t stat = 19.13> 2.0, 2) p-value = 1.20163E-64< 0.05; this clearly shows we have to reject the possibility of the coefficient being zero therefore b2 = 730.36
f – Test:
The null hypothesis here states that all the coefficients of the independent variables are zero i.e. in this case b1 = b2 = b3 = 0, but this does not hold in two cases 1) the F-stat > 4.0 2) significance f < 0.05.
Here, 1) F-stat = 333.31 > 4.0, 2) Significance f = 2.4592E-99 2.0 2) p-value < 0.05.
Bachelors (b1): 1) t stat = 3.73 > 2.0, 2) p-value = 0.00020< 0.05; this clearly shows we have to reject the possibility of the coefficient being zero therefore b1=191
Masters Plus (b2): 1) t stat = 13.50 > 2.0, 2) p-value = 1.145E-36 < 0.05; this clearly shows we have to reject the possibility of the coefficient being zero therefore b2 = 549
Judgmental and decision making(b3): 1) t stat = 0.88 < 2.0, 2) p-value = 0.37 > 0.05; this clearly shows we cannot reject the possibility of the coefficient being zero therefore b3 = 303
f – test:
