Course Objectives
Catalog Description
This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts in information technology. The focus is on developing skill sets in software applications productivity tools. A perspective on the range of information technology (IT) is presented. MS-Office labs form main part of the course.
Learning Outcomes:
Students who successfully complete this course will be able
1. to use computers and identify its components.
2. to understand how to use the tools and information available on the Internet to gather ideas and facts.
3. to identify the types of software (system and application), their key features and uses.
4. to organize and format gathered information in a professional manner using word processing, spreadsheets and e-presentations software.
5. to understand where today's technology originated and prepare for new technologies as they unfold.
