Business Decision Making Project Part 1

The team discussion this week, was based on the company of one of our classmates, that we found was interesting and had a problem that wasn’t helping the company. The team collaborated with each us of giving information on the company we work for, and what problem we saw that needed some type of solution. We chose Miranda’s company, which is a daycare in the state of Oregon, which she is the owner of. The problem is that her advertising isn’t doing so well, and there is an issue with how many infants she is allowed to have, in the daycare at a time.

Team Discussion

In the discussion, once the team decided that we were going with Miranda’s company, she was able to tell us what was going on. She told the team that she had an issue with who was her target audience when advertising and where to advertise. There is also an issue of her having more than two infants under her care, which is not possible, as that is a law in the state of Oregon.

Miranda’s target audience should be the mothers and fathers whom have a career and new parents. This is because they are the people who are in the need of her services. Her advertising should not be done with fliers, as those as well all know get thrown out. The advertising should be done more so through social media. Word of mouth is also something very important as that is free advertising. Being able to advertise to the right people is very important. I strongly believe that with using social media and the care.com site, would really help Miranda in growing her business.

Also, since she does have preschool there at her daycare, she can promote that and use that as her hook. Since her services might be a little less expensive than other daycares, that might offer this. Also, if a parent is willing to homeschool and not quite sure of it yet, this can also be used to help her get her foot in the door with those...
