BUILT OPERATE TRANSFER (BOT)
- A project given to company, they built it operate
for a while (after at least they managed to
cover its cost and gain profit) then transfer
back to public sector
- Example projects: Plus Highway, expressways
BUILT OPERATE OWN (BOO)
-Granted the right to develop, finance, design, build, own,
operate and maintain a project,
- Example projects : Westport, Port Tanjung Pelepas
BUILT TRANSFER OPERATE(BTO)
- Project financing, private co. received a franchise from the
private or public sector organization to finance, design,
construct and operate a facility for a specified period of
time, after which the ownership is transferred back to the
funding entity
- During the time that the project proponent operates the
facility, it is allowed to charge facility users appropriate
tolls, fees, rentals, and charges stated in their contract to
enable the project proponent to recover its investment, and
operating and maintenance expenses in the project.
- Example projects: Putra LRT, STAR LRT
BUILT TRANSFER OPERATE
BUILT OWN OPERATE TRANSFER (BOOT)
- financing arrangement in which a developer
designs and builds a complete project or facility
(at little or no cost to the government or a joint
venture partner.
-BOOT is owns and operates the facility as a
business for a specified period (usually 10 to 30
years) after which transfers it to the government
or partner at a previously agreed-upon or marketprice.
-For example such as an airport, power plant,
seaport
