Review of Related Literature and Studies

This chapter includes the related literature, foreign literature and local literature, related studies. Synthesis of the study, Gap bridge of the study and Notes of the proposed system.

Introduction

An Information System is a system consisting users and computers that processes or constructs information. Any particular information system opts to support operations, management, and decision making. It is an information and communication technology that a group uses, and also the way in which people interrelate with this technology in support of business processes.

Information System in current time has become computerized for much easier use for that reason, firms, Institutions and other establishments adopt modern technology in order to withstand and complete with the demands in various transactions and processes.

A number of existing works have been surveyed with a view to assess the work already done. The literature survey has been done with the help of primary and secondary sources.

Foreign Literature

Hollands(1997) explain the need to promote the use of internet based information services among teaching and research staff at a university in the U.K.

Lazinger et al (1997) conducted a survey of the faculty members of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem provided data on internet access as of 1995. The results showed higher usage by the members of the faculties of science, medicine and agriculture than the members of the faculties of social science and humanities.

Becker(1998) conducted a study on the internet use by 2, 250 teachers from public and private schools in the U.s. The study revealed that 90% of the teachers had Internet access. More than half of the teachers (59%) had Internet access at home. A majority of the teachers(68%) used Internet to find Information resources in preparing their lessons.
