Business Decision Making Project, Part 1

In week two, part 1 of our Business Decision Making group project. My collaborative team members and I and I discussed a business problem or opportunity at a company where each of us worked, we then narrowed it down to one company and problem where we could identify the variables. After much deliberation we decided to go with team member Cossondra, ultimately she has the best work related issue that can be solved through the extraction of statistical data. Cossondra works for a Wellness Center where they use statistical data every day. In order to provide the best quality of service, it’s important to make sure that the Wellness Center has the inventory that their clients are looking for. She claims to find discomfort when a client is unsatisfied, this is a place of healing which makes her more eager to assist. At the Wellness Center, there is massage therapy, essential oils, nutritional supplements and supplies needed for Belly Dancing and Yoga. The question she would like to focus on is the issue of what type of yoga to hold classes for? The Wellness Center offers Beginners, Gentle, Advanced, Medra, Wholy and Laughing. The company she works for are not concerned about the pricing because they have the only none gym atmosphere for yoga in the area. The concern is there is never a steady amount if people coming to the classes. The Wellness Center needs to hold at least three classes just in order to pay the instructors, if not then they lose more money than their making. Ultimately making the lack of funding bad for business. In hopes to release some of the financial burdens, as a group we discussed ways to implement full and consistent classes by offering memberships so that is clients are no shows then it would be a waste of their money and not the center’s.
