Ethical Dilemmas

There are several issues that we will be examining in this paper. We will look at how they must be handled in order for your company to have a strong and law abiding relationship.

Marketing and advertising are not exempt to regulations and laws put in place by the government. Everyone within a company will be presented with situations and they must decide on how they will react to the law and code of ethics. Many ethical issues are not a clear right or wrong that may come up while doing business. A common ethical issue in marketing that may arise is how to be socially aware. When you are targeting a certain group or market you must take into account how it will impact the people you are appealing to. People may take it as you are stereotyping a certain race or group. You also will need to figure out if you marketing strategy are offensive to the targeted audience. It is important to be sensitive to people’s culture and also weigh the possible consequences for your marketing strategy. You do not want an outcome that offends the public and taint the image of your company.

It is necessary in intellectual property to give a person the option to protect their hard earned work. With today’s technology it has become very hard to do so. Before intellectual property only protected trade secrets but now it has become a growing interest in protecting the financial gain of individuals.

It is a given ethical practice that companies will ensure that they produce quality products and have a social responsibility to their customers. Employees are expected to make sure that all products produced are safe. The products should also be tested and passed certification before the public has access to it.
