RECOMANDATION FOR PURCHASE OF A SUV (sport utility vehicle) FOR PERSONAL USE

Introduction

I am a graduate student and full time job holder, and I rely on my car for all my transportation needs. A reliable, comfortable and safe car can make a difference in my daily life. When I moved in U.S, I had to buy a car as soon as I could afford it, and in a small budget. It was an old, used car but a good deal for the price I paid. Recently, after using it for almost two years I find myself having to spend a lot for maintenance. It is coming to a point that the money I am spending on it, it is not a good investment anymore, not to mention that I cannot afford spending anymore of my time back and forth to the car shop. It is necessary for me buy another car, and this time it would be beneficial to get a new one.

The purpose of this report is to recommend a vehicle for purchase for my daily transportation needs, that best fulfills my requirements. First step is choosing the alternatives. The next step is to establish the criteria for selecting the appropriate new vehicle out of these alternatives. Then, it evaluates the prospective alternatives and presents a recommendation based on those criteria.

I love crossover SUV type cars. I think that a SUV is a good size vehicle for me, especially appropriate for the snow weather in Cleveland. I am into Japanese cars, so I narrowed my alternatives down to three midsize SUV’s. These were among the best rated midsized SUVs for 2015. (U.S News)

Since they are very similar vehicles, I need to research them, and learn more about them in order to make a well thought recommendation. I came up with 4 criteria to measure those alternatives against, to help me decide which one to recommend for purchase:

• Cost within the budget ($35,00.00)

• High fuel efficiency

• High owner satisfaction ( ratings of 9.00 or higher)
