Goals:

1. Students know the importance of the European Union for businesses and are able to solve the most important problems that businesses face even though there is a customs union in the EU

2. Students know how to solve problems concerning the free movement of

goods, persons, services and capital.

3. Students know how to deal with problems in which businesses are prohibited to disturb the internal market by making unlawful agreements or by misusing their business power.

Examination:

1. Written exam: the students show in the final exam that they have a clear understanding on how the EU works and how to solve problems when the trade is disturbed by government authorities. They solve problems for businesses that operate in the EU. The students are able to answer questions and cases by applying the most important articles out the conventions of the EU.

2. Assignment ILW3: students have to write a paper in which they describe and solve the most important problems for a business set up in the EU. See Scholar for details.
