TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

The researcher used various tools to support each phase for the development of the system. The researcher made use of the Unified Process Model. These models are composed of communication and planning, planning and modeling, and construction phase.

In the communication and planning phase, the researcher used Microsoft Word application for the documentation of the proposed project.

In the planning and modeling phase, the researcher used Dia Portable, a diagramming program to draw diagrams, entity relationship diagram, UML diagrams, flowcharts, and other diagrams needed for the proposed project. They also used Balsamiq Mockup, a Graphical User Interface mockup builder application for the design and arrangement of widgets of the project prototype.

In the construction phase, some web development tools are used:

* Hypertext Preprocessesor(PHP). The researcher use this popular general-purpose scripting language suited for the development of the proposed project. Because of its adaptability, it is easier to make LAN-Based System to Online System by just uploading the files.

* MySQL. The researcher used this widely used open-source relational database management system because it is fast, reliable and cheaper, and it is a database suited for PHP.

* Hypertext Markup Language(HTML). The researcher used this standard markup language for the development of the proposed project.

* Cascading Style Sheet(CSS). The researcher used this style sheet language to describe the look and formatting document written in the HTML. It will also enable the separation of document content and document presentation, including elements such as colors, fonts and layout.

* XAMPP. The researcher used this  free and open source cross-platform web server solution stack package, consisting mainly of the Apache HTTP Server, MySQL database, and interpreters for scripts written in the PHP.
