Final assessment and Review of the Basecamp Project Plan

For this assignment we will be evaluating our work throughout this course with a critical eye and reflect back on the work we have accomplished. Part of this evaluation will involve describing what we have learned and how it might affect our behavior and career as having gone through each phase. My assigned software is Basecamp and provides great assistance in developing an effective design plan. To begin I’ll summarize and discuss the activities accomplished in the earlier phases of action definition and plan design.

Previously, we had been assigned our own project management software and started out small as we got used to the interface and various features. Basecamp incorporates many great communication tools, drawings, commonly used presentation software such as PowerPoint, chat features and also includes a fully implemented project that was completed using Basecamp. In addition to that we got to experience various message boards, project To Do lists, assigning personnel to various projects, calendar milestones and file sharing tools.

The next step involved the initial distribution and allocation of personnel resources through personnel definition and plan design. This is really where things started taking shape because you already had the basics down on what your project was and where you wanted to go, but now you had to fill in the gaps (see example gap analysis and skills chart below).
