What is Sapient’s Strategy?

Sapient is launched in November 6, 1990 by Greenberg and Moore. It is a consulting and marketing company. Sapient provides services including business and Information Technology Strategy, process and system design , Marketing Strategy, business applications design and development, Business intelligence[1], custom development and package implementation, systems integration and outsourced services, including testing, maintenance and support.

Sapient started with the strategy of helping clients realize business impact from technology. The company’s purpose and core values were built to focus on the client’s success and the company raised the bar in order to be client focused. The founders want to make impact in Client’s business by making them achieve what they weren’t even thinking about. Sapient considered its client engagement successful only when the business goal has been met, not when the existing system has been modified or entirely new system has been implemented.

Sapient’s strategy was to engage clients need in a fixed price, fixed time model. Approach was not to “satisfy client’s needs but solve their business problems”. This was potentially high risk strategy as they absorbed the cost of overrun projects. Sapient was always trying to find a way to manage the risk in implementing the company’s strategy.
