Similarities and Differences Between Gods and Humans

The relationships between human beings and gods seem to be coexistent. They need each other in their everyday lives to complete tasks. They are similar in their appearance and behaviors because they rely on one another. Humans may do sacrifice and other rituals to please the important gods. Humans expect the gods to look over them and to keep them safe in return for these services. For example, "Might net, the protector of his people, raging flood-wave who destroys even walls of stone!" this shows how the gods protected humans. They see the gods as perfect immortal beings that are all knowing. Another way that the Gods and Humans are similar is that they both express the same emotions. Both showing anger and regards to " Shamash raised up against Humbaba mighty tempests” and " He filled in the pits that I had dug, wrenched out my traps that i had spread, released from my grasp the wild animals". The first God became angry because of the violence in the woods and in the second quote the man got angry because he lost his meat. In the fifth tablet, the god shamish appears in darken clouds and rain to intervene to prevent the violence between the men. Its unlikely for humans to do the same because humans fear getting hurt. Gods live by a different set of laws and it creates a rift in understanding. The similarities and differences between gods and humans are settle but large but somehow they find a way to be a large part in each others lives.
