GREAT JOB

Someone who is a leader does not have to be a manager and someone who is a manager, does not have to be a leader. A manager and a leader are not the same. A leader innovates, develops, focuses on people's emotions, inspires people, and challenges their followers. “The leader innovates whereas the manager administers. This means that the leader is the one who comes up with the new ideas and moves the rest of the organization into a forward thinking phase”(Giang, 2012). A manager is different. A manager is “a person who has control or direction of an institution, business, etc., or a part, division, or phase of it''(Dictionary.com). A manager maintains, focuses on systems and structures, controls systems and people. They also have to accept the way that things are. Leaders are different. They like risks. They are concerned with fulfilling their vision. They like to overcome barriers and push forward. Managers do not like barriers. Someone who is a leader does not have to be a manager. Being a leader is much different than being a manager. Leaders asks the why questions and they give the followers the responsibility to make the right choices. Managers ask the how questions. They think about doing the right thing and not taking any risks. Although they are not the same and you do not have to be both, it is also possible to be both. Managers plan but leaders empower people.
