Experience Description

For this assignment, I have attended one of the restaurants of McDonald's chain, located the closest to me. My objective was to notice all the small details in venue`s operations. I have observed how the building is constructed, which infrastructure McDonald's has, how the employees look like and how they behave towards customers and towards each other.

First of all, I have made a couple of observations in terms of the parking lot. I have noticed that the parking lot to the restaurant is usually bigger than the restaurant. In fact, almost three quarters of the space are taken up by the parking lot. The parking lot is very close to the hotel living place and gas station surrounding it. I suppose, such a big parking lot is needed because many customers that attend McDonald's have their personal vehicles. The number of vehicles on the parking lot depends mostly on the time of the day and it is mostly fully parked during meal breaks such as breakfast, lunch and supper. Some people are lined up in the vehicles so as to order take away food without really getting into the hotel. The general view of the hotel from outside there is a couple of common things observed in all McDonald’s restaurants.

One major observation is the big McDonald’s has the big logo of McDonald’s at the entrance. The building is generally red with some parts yellow, which are the brand`s official colors all over the world. I suppose that such choice of colors is made due to marketing reasons. Yellow packaging is considered as the most advantageous. Not only it attracts more attention than other colors, but also it is associated with low price and high quality of goods
