After a careful analysis of the water supply and sewerage project of Islandia, a $32 million project initiated by the government of Islandia under the water and sewerage corporation (WSC) a newly established statutory body which have autonomy over the revenues and operational matters of islandia. The project is initiated to help improve the water supply of the people of Islandia. An island whose economy is dependent on tourism and as such is currently experiencing an unusually high level hotel construction and expansion coupled with the high level of migration from rural areas and this has increased the demand for water and in turn resulted in a shortage in the supply. While the sanitary sewerage system which serve a small portion of 10% of Islandia, particularly Georgetown north of the ridge needs to be salvaged. Indeed there’s a need for this project and we believe it’s a welcome development that will help alleviate the suffering of the people of Islandia.

One key aspect of every project is identifying the stakeholders, that is, the people who are influenced by and can influence a project and it doesn’t just end at identifying them but also knowing how to manage each stakeholders having in mind that every stakeholder has an interest in the project and expectations concerning the project. No wonder why stakeholders’ management is one of the knowledge areas of project management. In the light of this, we have left no stone unturned in identifying the various stakeholders of the water supply and sewerage project of Islandia breaking it down into the actors and factors and we went further to identify the major actors, their degree of importance and which must be actively managed and we proposed how we’re going to manage each actor and factor, identifying one key for each factor that will lessen dependency, reduce risk and increase power and all of this is done in other to achieve the project objectives and deliver a successful and sustainable project outcome.
