Preamble:

SQC (Student's Quality Circles), is a growing practice in institutions across Nepal. As we may see, it is growing significant and also an inevitable part of students' co-curricular activities. Small group of students would meet once in a week and identify a problem they are facing in their institution. They then identify the root cause of the problem and work on solving it independently, and solve the problem. This process would yield dual benefits to the institution. The students other than the circle members would be benefitted as the problems they are facing would be solved. In the course of solving the problem, the circle members would learn and inculcate various essential skills. These skills sum up to a wholesome development in the personality of students.

Proposition:

SQC teaches us to be free and independent. In this article we are looking at different teachings of SQC and how it translates to an independent and free thinkers in a whole.

People require independence to allow them to utilize their creative skills and make the best out of it. This independence to utilize the creative potential of one's mind and the free space without any constraint is best defined by the term "FREEDOM". Freedom translates to the ability to work and think without any influence or barrier by others. Personality development is a process of developing a person's abilities by thinking and acting out of the box and improve on the way they live and interact. For this improvement and development of personality, a person needs to exploit his/her potential to the fullest. This is not possible if the person does not get adequate freedom to act and learn.

{Freedom from problems}

Everything in SQC starts from finding a problem....
