1. If I was the lead engineer and i had the decision to approve of the experiment, I would approve of the experiment. I have two reasons why i would approve.

Reason 1: my first reason for approval would be the fact they are trying to better understand the motion of magma below the Earth's crust for the benefit human kind .

Reason 2: This can possibly help predict the random occurance of Earthquakes.

Scientific efforts and religious beliefs have been challenging one another for centuries and it is no different in this situation. With it being religion and science we have to look at Natural law theory. Natural Law Theory is the body of laws that come from nature , right reason, and religion.

Natural law of science will look at the reason behind the experiment to justify is it morally right. The fact is the experiment is morally right because it is trying to better understand nature by reason.

Natural Law of Religion will look at the religious beliefs of the Native Amercan Pueblos. In this case they arr also morally right because it is their belief the land is sacred and should not be disturbed because it will cause unanticipated consequences on humankind.

At this crossroad where religion and science meet, they had to come to a compromise like the scenario did. 3 out of 4 Pueblos agreed with the scientist to use a viberous technique to proceed with there study. This compromise caused ultimate satisfaction for both sides because the land was not harmed and the experiment was a success .

Utilitarianism can also serve as a guideline in the situation. Utilitarianism can be a guideline because of the compromise they came to. Utilitarianism aims to maximize utility and utility can be defined as including as pleasure, economic well-being and the lack of suffering. Although a whole 4 out of 4 Pueblos did not agree on the compromise, 3 out of 4 did. 3 out of 4 is 75% which is a greater good thus causing the most satisfaction for the most people....
