• Description/Credibility of Academic Journals:

After reading through the GVSU Library’s Research Tutorial and AEA’s webpage, I have found that academic/scholarly journals are the more useful pieces of writing. In order to be academic or scholarly, there are a few requirements. The big give away to finding one is that it says “Peer Reviewed” somewhere in the text, generally at the end. Being peer reviewed means that the author is not the only person to evaluate or recreate the article. there have been several other different experts on the topic that have made adjustments or updated the article (AEA, 2014). Another key to finding an academic article is that there is some type of analysis, with the average popular journals there is only a general informative about what the author thinks at the moment.
