Advantages to LED lighting in the classroom

LED or light emitting diode has come to replace the old incandescent and fluorescent bulbs nearly completely. They produce more light for less energy and trough less heat than either of the other two. One of the biggest factors is the life span of the LED bulbs which is simply a laughable comparison of 50,000 hours expected of an LED versus 1,200 hours from in incandescent bulb and only 8,000 hours from a fluorescent bulb. One could stop there and be satisfied with replacing all of the old lighting in schools with new LED bulbs, But the benefits don't stop with the economic standpoint. LED bulbs should be used in schools because they are a better use of both the environment in economic resources given to the school, they can help create a stable learning environment for the students, and can increase the performance of the students by changing their color.

There's often argument about whether LED bulbs are worth the initial investment in the long run. Due to their initial cost, which is often double incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, LED bulbs are often rejected because of the initial cost. This is foolish because of the unprecedented lifespan of the LED bulbs. Skepticism is often the response when proposed with new ideas of how to help students learn better. In this case there is no way that just by changing the lights color you can improve a certain of the students performance. Many scientific studies have been done to prove that when exposed to certain light through our eyes the brain produce certain chemicals and responses in direct reaction to the light color change. It is simply amazing how complex our brain is and how little is actually known about it.
