Executive Summary:
Many of our consumers fear being infected by E.Coli. With our new premium beef strategy, I feel we can cause a lot of ground beef distributors to rethink their processing strategy.
Background:
Locally Grown vs. Sourcing:
* My research has shown that locally grown and processed meat products are much safer and will provide our consumers a greater experience than sourcing for meat from various places.
* In a case from 2007, over nine hundred were left ill due to E.Coli lingering in ground beef.
* Among these people, one person, Stephanie Smith, was only 22 when she was left paralyzed. She had eaten a frozen hamburger patty from the billion-dollar company Cargill.
* Because the trimmings from the ground beef were from various sources that had poor quality control, the contamination could not be linked to Cargill, or its various sources.
* In another case in Europe, beef was recalled because when it was tested it found to be almost 100% horsemeat.
* It happened to come from an Irish slaughterhouse that had mislabeled the box.
Premium Quality:
* With many ground beef consumers fearing deadly E.Coli lingering in their hamburgers, I believe with our premium quality meat we will reach much success.
* Unlike most distributors, we will not go through tens of sources for our ground beef. Instead it will be from one source, our local farm.
* Our supply chain will start at the farm where cows are raised with no additional hormones, to the slaughterhouse, then to the grinders where they would be later packaged.
* In addition to owning all the facilities, we will also check for E.Coli at every stage.
* Because our beef will be of premium quality and we will have higher operating costs, we must charge a premium price....
