1. Clear and understandable to all parties involved. The organization can articulate and relate to it.(Ranking:7/10)

2. Specifies the purpose of the organization. Should be able to answer five whys

( Ranking : 2/10)

3. Primary focus on a single strategic thrust.

4. Reflect the distinctive competence of the organization (e.g., what can it do best? What is its unique advantage?) ( Ranking : 5/10)

5. Broad enough to allow flexibility in implementation, but not so broad as to permit lack of focus.

6. Means by which the organization can make decisions.

7. Reflect the values, beliefs and philosophy of operations of the organization. ( Ranking : 3/10)

8. Reflect attainable goals. ( Ranking :8/10)

9. Brief enough for most people to remember.

Specifies the purpose of the organization (Ranking : 2/10)

The mission and vision statement should specify the purpose of the firm. In case of TCS their mission and vision statement clearly specifies their purpose of serving their customer by helping them solve their business problems by providing IT solutions and services. Also they want to come up with the best solution for their customers and have a vision of being among in the leaders in the IT solution provider
