The return of Sherlock Holmes

The novel talks about the great detective Sherlock Holmes and his return after he was assumed to be dead. The story is been told by Dr. Watson and he’s the detective’s best friend and it starts in 1894 in London where a famous member of the society has been murdered, Ronald Adair, in a mysterious way. He is a wealthy man who lives with his mother and sister, likes playing cards and gambling and on the night of the murder no one heard something unusual but the man was found dead in his room in the next day and was concluded that he died from the shot of a gun with a lot of money next to him untouched. There was no evidence of anyone entering the room at all.

Watson went to the house of Adair to check if there’s any clues and comes back with none. When he arrived home he was visited by a librarian who wanted to sell him books and when the man told him to turn around he was shocked by seeing his old friend Sherlock Holmes standing infront of him and he fainted. When Watson woke up he was so happy to see his friend and then Sherlock started telling the story of his assumed death. Few years ago, Holmes had fallen off a cliff along with his most dangerous enemies Professor Moriarty but Holmes actually didn't die. He faked his death because he knew that he was still in danger from the Professors gang of criminals, so he made sure that everyone including Watson would believe that he was dead. However, when Holmes was climbing the cliff he saw that one of Moriarty’s followers saw him and that’s why he had to escape to Italy with the help of his brother. He had visited a lot of places in the world but finally was attracted to the Adair’s case and decided to return.

At the same night Watson and Holmes went out to start solving the crime and head to an empty house that turned out to be the opposite of Holmes house and they start waiting there for a member of Moriarty’s gang which turns out that Holmes...
