A lesson that can be learned about entering a country that has political risks because it is run by a totalitarian government is that it can be a very dangerous. There is danger in not only the fighting amongst the people, but if you make the government mad they could come after the company first hand. Instead of being in the cross fire of the fight, the company could be in the crosshairs. That is not good for business or anyone that is running it. Another lesson that could be learned from this situation is that lives matter more than maintaining a company. Ten thousand deaths is a staggering number due to fighting in an area that the company has set up, it becomes senseless and unethical to try to tough it out and stay in an environment like that. The only way to do this is if management has made a huge effort in securing the company’s facilities and has some way of protecting the workers, while allowing them to keep their jobs.

If I was in this situation it would be very tough. If you stay in contact you understand what is going on and how long it might last. You are able to make moves accordingly as it plays out. But, you put yourself at risk and put yourself right in the line of fire which could get people hurt. On the other hand, if you pull out and stay your distance you are going to be safe and people will not get hurt but you are losing dollars as each minute passes by. Also, you also do not have the luxury of know what is going on and how long it is going to last and why. Stay in Libya or get out? For the workers and the sake of not losing money to shutting down the facility, I would keep it running but not at 100 percent. Depending on the amount of jobs lost I would either just drop them and close it. Which would be plan B or if there are a lot employed we would build on to the factory to house the employees and hire security to keep the company running and stay within ourselves (neutral to both sides of the war) and not run the facility at...
