Summary

We have analyzed data on 25 business schools in Asia-Pacific to see if there is any relationship between the different variables and also analyzed the data on the variables themselves. The data was for 4129 students in institutions ranging from 12 to 463 students with an average age of 28.36 years. Some of these business schools offer a student to faculty ratio of as low as 2:1, with the average at 8.5:1. A number of these institutions also enroll foreign students and a majority of them have implemented higher tuition rates for their foreign students. A majority of the schools require their students to have work experience, while about half of them require the GMAT. Three of the schools require that the students have work experience as well as take the GMAT and an English Test.

Data shows that students enrolled in institutions that require work experience at an average have 41% higher starting salaries. The same is also true for students enrolled in schools that require English Tests where they earn approximately 25% higher. Although the starting salaries are highest in the highest costing school and lowest in the lowest costing school, we did not find any relationship between tuition and starting salaries. Our analysis is in line with the economy in the Asia-Pacific region. We noted that starting salaries are proportional to economic situations in the region. Japan and Australia are at the high end, while India comes in last in the region.
