Martin Luther King Jr. is a true inspiration. His “I have a dream” speech is one of the most powerful speeches ever given. Many people believe that his speech helped dreams come true for equality all across the nation. But the problem is, we still have not yet achieved that. The events that are happening in this world today does not do his speech any justice.

In Martin Luther Kings speech, the main focus that he wants to get across is for all white and black people to get along, and for everyone to have the same privileges. “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” This quote explains how King wants his kids to grow up where they're not judged by how they look, but how they act. A lot may say that the world has grown to be true to this statement, but in reality, that hasn't been accomplished fully. For example, the death of Michael Brown on August 9th 2014, and the events that occurred after. The eighteen-year old was shot in Ferguson, Missouri by white police officer Darren Wilson. Shortly before he got shot, he had robbed a convenience store. The shooting sparked chaos in Ferguson for over a week. But what the jury decided is what set the people of Ferguson over the edge. Wilson was found not guilty. The first thing people thought when they heard about the incident was racism. People started trashing everything from gas stations to local stores. President Obama adressed the situation on November 24th, 2014. He said Michael's parents want people to peacefully protest, and go about the situation in the right way. So it can lead to positive change instead of negative. "And I am confident that if we focus our attention on the problem and we look at what has happened in communities around the country effectively, then we can make progress not just in Ferguson, but in a lot of other cities...
