Essence of Emotion to Art

After reading the article I was wondered by how emotion really affects the art. The question that took on my mind after reading the title is that “How emotion relates into an art? “.Well I know that emotion of a person has a deep meaning especially when it is mirrored by art. But what I really want to know is that how philosophers explains “Art and Emotion”. The article said that the emotion as a natural part of human response have a special relation to art .

Aesthetic responses have been viewed as basic stimulus response. Gadamer adapts to Kantian aesthetics that art should be understood as a form of play that not only explains the relationship between that artist and the viewer but between the serious and lighthearted of art. Expressivism is the idea that art is related to emotion. It is said that the expression of emotion is difficult to determine between the relationship of artist, to work, and the viewer. Imagination is the special ability of an artist to create his/her art through emotions. But Collingwood have different version of expressivism that avoid the explanation of what they call “psychologism” which is a philosophical position that psychology plays a central role but explaining non psychological fact.
