1. What is the Skeletal System?

The Skeletal System is all of the bones in the body and tissues such as tendons, ligaments and cartilage that connect them.

2. How does the Skeletal System help us?

The Skeletal System is beneficial to the human body because it provides support for our body, helps protect your internal organs and fragile body tissues from damage, and bones provide the structure for muscles to attach so that our bodies are able to move.

3. Who has more bones a baby or an adult?

Babies have more bones than adults because at birth you have about 300 bones and as you grow older you end up with 206 bones

4. Are bones alive?

Bones are very much alive because they have their own nerves and blood vessels, and they do various jobs, such as storing body minerals like calcium.

5. What is a bone made of?

A typical bone is made up of an outer layer of hard or compact bone, inside this is a layer of spongy bone and in the middle of some bones is a jelly-like bone marrow where new cells are constantly being produced for the blood.

6. How do bones break and heal?

Bones beak when they bend a bit but with the right amount of force the bone finally snaps. Due to the bones consisting of living cells, the bones produces lots of new cells that rebuild your broken bone. These cells cover both ends of the broken part of the bone and close up the break.

An X-ray are a very energetic form of electromagnetic radiation that can be used to take images of the human body
