Which program outcome do you think might add the most value for you?

At this point in my career, the further development and personal, as well as professional values awareness, both for myself and that being reflected through my actions with others is paramount. I am the youngest property manager in charge of real estate transactions ever to be given this position at Lexington Medical Center and it has been no easy task. While I certainly feel up to the challenge I struggle, at least in the first 10 minutes or so, of each meeting I attend where there are new faces, just proving that I am the man for the job. I have been in this position for a little more than a year and have felt like I have interviewed with more than 25 different directors and VPs during this time. So far I seem to be ahead of the power curve. I’ll let you know how next week goes….

Which managerial competencies reflect current strengths for you?

Collaboration, creating controls and communicating are three skills that I have become very aware of and good at utilizing. I sincerely believe that the reason I am where I am is that I surround myself with people I know are more technically skilled than I and are willing to do what is necessary to get the job done above expectation(s). I was in the military for nearly ten years and learned early on to be accountable and to hold other accountable for their responsibilities. I create natural checks and balances with each assignment and expect that things will be done timely and to standard. When things do not go as planned then I will address the problem in a consistent way, whether it was a process that failed or an individual. I believe in team involvement through weekly meetings and expect my team members to keep me informed of anything happening as well as any issues that have come up. I also expect and support...
